Thank you for your interest in the Kid Lab!
There are several different ways for students to get involved in our research. The best way to start is to take Professor Foster-Hanson’s Developmental Psychology Course (PSYC 039), which is offered in the fall. Students who earn a grade of B+ or above can then take the Seminar in Cognitive Development (PSYC 139) in the spring.
Students who are or have taken PSYC 139 are eligible to work in the lab for credit or pay (if they have financial need). First year students can also take the First Year Seminar in Early Social Cognition (PSYC 007).
Seniors with the appropriate background and prior approval can take the Research Practicum in Development Psychology (PSYC 107) or complete a senior thesis in the lab.
Students in the lab can contact Professor Foster-Hanson if they would like to apply for a funded summer research opportunity. Note that these positions are limited.
